Broome + Greene is a retailer of quality modern furniture, lighting & decor for town & country homes.
We are looking for an Events Associate Intern to join our Chicago Merchandise Mart showroom for either the Spring or Summer '19 semester.
The Events Associate is responsible for coordinating all aspects of trade and consumer events for our Chicago and New York City locations.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with marketing to identify upcoming trade shows and community events that Broome + Greene should participate in
- Plan event purpose and structure, with clearly defined objectives and goals
- Coordinate venue and sponsorship where appropriate
- Book catering & entertainment where needed
- Create invitation lists based on type of event and manage headcount/RSVP list
- Work with marketing to promote the event to the correct audiences
- Work with sales to identify potential guests to help close more deals
- Be the point person on the day of the event to ensure everything is running smoothly
Requirements:
- Proven analytical and interpersonal skills
- Engaging and welcoming personality, strong work ethic, and professional demeanor
- Excellent verbal communication and phone etiquette
- Exceptional eye to detail, and the ability to drive results
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, etc.
- Ability to quickly and thoroughly learn product information
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility for all assigned tasks and fulfill them quickly and accurately
- Ability to work with team members from all company departments
THIS IS AN UNPAID INTERNSHIP, However lunch will be provided daily and reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses. Course credit is available.
